Here’s a tour of the new SCLA Website and all its features.
Monthly Newsletter Experiment Concludes
Our association’s experience with the free monthly newsletter provided by Peel, Inc, has sadly failed. Unfortunately, the publisher was unable to obtain enough regular advertisements from local businesses to continue this service for us. The board is currently considering providing this newsletter in digital format. If such a proposal is adopted, the newsletter would be distributed to members who subscribe to the Sunset Canyon Google group (you can easily join, FREE, using the panel at the left), and would be posted on our website.
Our newsletter editor, Weldon Jarrett, is eager to receive submissions for inclusion in the newsletter. The deadline for submissions is the 10th of the month prior to publication date. You may submit articles to Weldon for the next newsletter by clicking here (Please.. all submissions in WORD or email text format.. not PDF).

Nassour Lots
Did you know that if your lot is one of the “Nassour Lots”, membership and dues payment is mandatory according to your deed. Delinquent dues for these lots can be recorded as a lien against the property, and cause issues when the property is sold. If you would like to check to see if your property is a “Nassour Lot” go to the Documents tab, then click on Lot Differences.
Our association has the lowest dues of any other HOA in this area. Paying your minimum dues each year along with your neighbor will help us continue to keep the dues low.

Join our Email discussion group
PLEASE! Join our SCLA Online Community Group!
The Google-based SCLA community group forum is our primary means of communicating with SCLA residents. Sign up, and you’ll receive an email automatically anytime one of our residents posts an issue there. This is the best means we have to provide inexpensive and current communications amongst ourselves.
Issues of concern may be posted here, for consideration and action by the board of directors. Additionally, post any other information, such as garage sales, lost/found pets, request for servicemen recommendations, etc.
To join the group, just enter your email in the Google groups box in the upper left hand panel. In order to join this group, you will need to have a Google user name and password. This is a simple, secure, private, and free one-time process that takes just a minute.
The effective operation of our association depends heavily on being able to communicate quickly to all members. Please assist the board in this endeavor by joining and participating in the SCLA group.

Building Permits
Are you aware that every lot in the Sunset Canyon community has building restrictions defined right in the deed? Although the deed restrictions vary slightly among the 5 different phases of Sunset Canyon development, all deeds DO require adherence to a set of basic covenants.
Before building a new building, or adding outbuildings to a property, a permit is required from the association to confirm that the proposed addition meets the basic requirements of the deed restrictions.
For details on restrictions that apply to our association, or specifics on how to obtain a building permit select the PERMITS menu item in the Header.
